For an established Swiss IT service company in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer who combines technical expertise with customer orientation and independently drives diverse IT infrastructure projects forward.
Responsibilities:
You plan, implement and operate modern IT infrastructures in the areas of client, server, storage and cloud.
You design customised IT solutions and create technical architecture concepts as well as system documentation.
You support demanding customer environments on-site and remotely and advise customers on the further development of their IT infrastructure.
You administer and optimise Microsoft server environments, virtualisation platforms and cloud infrastructures.
You further develop existing managed services and ensure stable, secure and reliable IT operations.
You analyse complex technical faults in 3rd-level support and take on on-call duties if required.
You take on technical responsibility in IT projects and work closely with project management and account management.
Qualifications:
Completed IT training with further education at HF, FH or university level, for example in computer science or electrical engineering
At least 5 years of professional experience in system engineering, ideally at an IT service provider with external customers
Sound knowledge in at least two areas: Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure/Microsoft 365, client engineering or storage & backup
Experience in designing and implementing complex IT infrastructure projects
Manufacturer certifications such as Microsoft MCSE or VMware VCP are an advantage
Independent, structured and customer-oriented working style as well as a category B driving licence
Good German and English skills as well as strong team and communication skills
