Job Description

We are looking for a Project Engineer (m/f/n) for our site in Muttenz (BL). The plant is located in the Infrapark Baselland in Muttenz, and its close proximity to our Technical Development Centre in Münchwilen will facilitate the production step from pilot plant to large-scale production.

As Project Engineer, you will lead a part of one or more engineering capital projects; this could be a technical responsibility across a whole project or a cross- functional responsibility for a part or phase of a project, thus ensuring the timely implementation of new or improved assets consistent with business requirements and within budget while fulfilling all safety parameters. Project locations will include Muttenz site and potentially other locations across the Rheintal as required.

Responsibilities

  • In compliance with company policy and local legislation determine, implement and ensure adherence to the PRA process and other safe working procedures.
  • Estimate, execute and track costs and progress of activities to ensure project delivery meets challenging time constraints and within established cost and safety parameters for several project phases
  • Design and specify equipments together with other team member
  • Manage the activities of engineering offices , suppliers, and installers for the engineering required by the project.
  • Detailed co-ordination of the internal and external resources that form a project team
  • Plan and co-ordinate required parts of construction and commissioning activities, ensuring they are safe and effective
  • Identify, specify and monitor the implementation of appropriate standards for engineering design, procurement and construction to ensure compliance with company policy, local regulations and fit-for-purpose assets.
  • Fully describe the technical, process and operational requirements of the asset to be built and subsequently develop a detailed design which meets project success criteria.
  • Plan and monitor the mechanical and asset commissioning phases
  • Agree with the site the requirements for project data and provide timely and accurate information required for the compilation of the registers of equipment, alarms and trips and to meet the other agreed site documentation requirements
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with all project stakeholders
  • Contribute to robust, timely applications for engineering capital approvals
  • Close and document the project, handing over to the site fully operational assets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering/Science preferred in mechanical engineering, automation technology or a similar discipline.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in process industries or similar project environment
  • Awareness of construction safety and management.
  • Project Process and application of key tools and techniques
  • Awareness of budget and cost management in the contract environment.
  • Ability to lead and influence a diverse team without direct line responsibility, including technical experts and senior staff.
  • Communicates clearly and regularly with all project stakeholders.
  • Fluent in both, German and English
