The Role

You will be developing and leading all purchasing aspects of H55’s activities: project and production purchasing and NPR purchasing i.e. non-product related goods and services, including tooling and equipment. You will report initially to the CTO.

Specifically, you will:

  • Proactively manage the interface between suppliers and H55, in all development phases including project, production and maintenance

  • Actively participate in all on-going H55 development projects as the company’s Project Buyer

  • Select suppliers and manage all aspects of the relationship i.e. identification, evaluation, contracts, auditing, renewal/termination, etc. 2

  • Understand and calculate the production costs and supplier margins for all key bought-out components, with the objective of maximizing H55 performance and profitability while ensuring fair margins to suppliers

  • Negotiate, prepare and enforce purchasing requirements and contracts

  • Continuously manage and monitor supplier overall performance based on quality and on time delivery, cost, innovation and compliance criteria

  • Represent suppliers’ interests within H55: communicate, alert and escalate all risks and issues to H55 leadership; ensure that all H55 interactions with suppliers are managed professionally; professional meetings preparation, maintaining clear and robust data (supported by facts and figures); and, respecting commitments


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a high-level purchasing engineer in technology focused industries such as automotive, railway, electronics or aeronautics. Specifically, this includes:

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical or electric/electronics engineering

  • Minimum 15 years of experience with a combination of purchasing functions and operational responsibilities in projects, production or aftermarket

  • Success in driving purchasing overall performance

  • Comfortable in dealing with customers, suppliers and contractors from a global supply chain

  • Demonstrated success in working as a team player, capable of interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and skill sets

  • Knowledge of EASA regulatory framework (DOA, POA, MOA) would be viewed favorably
