As a Production Support Engineer, you will be the eyes and ears of our IT systems, playing a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of infrastructure, applications, and operational processes.
Reporting to the Head of Monitoring, your mission is to anticipate issues-such as batch delays or filesystem problems-and take swift action to maintain system continuity across environments (SIMULATION, UAT, PRODUCTION)

Description
Batch Job Management
- Oversee end-of-day batch execution, ensuring timely start and completion.
- Perform first-level diagnostics on batch failures and recovery procedures.
- Escalate incidents and collaborate with other teams as needed.
- Perform milestone checks on critical jobs and ensure SLA adherence.
Monitoring & Incident Management
- Monitor infrastructure and application alerts (e.g., server health, disk usage, service status).
- Perform initial triage and notify relevant teams to address issues.
- Support root cause analysis through incident reproduction and simulations.
User Support & Service Requests
- Handle ad hoc user requests: one-time job execution, file resends, new job scheduling, and more.
- Troubleshoot transactional issues and escalate as necessary.
Release & Patch Management
- Support release deployments by coordinating batch stop/start and validating post-release sanity checks.
- Assist with third-party patching and system upgrades, minimizing service disruptions.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Be prepared to activate and follow disaster recovery protocols.
- Help ensure continuous operations during DR scenarios and test activities.
Continuous Improvement & Automation
- Drive automation of routine tasks: TWS plan exports/imports, backups, cleanups, and monitoring improvements.
- Contribute to strategic cross-functional initiatives such as system migrations, onboarding/offboarding, and new tool integration (e.g., Amplifly).
Profile
Education: Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Location: Swiss resident or open to relocation.
Experience:
- 3+ years in IT production support or monitoring roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) - job creation, plan analysis, troubleshooting.
- Solid experience in batch processing environments.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
- Experience with incident and problem resolution (e.g., full file systems, failed jobs, broken job chains).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, performance tuning, and system optimization.
- Exposure to ticketing systems such as JIRA, HP Quality Center.
- Knowledge of change, release, and configuration management principles.
