About Our Client
For our client, an innovative and internationally oriented biotech company in the greater Lucerne area, we are looking for an experienced Associate Specialist Upstream Operations (m/f/d). The company specialises in the GMP-compliant manufacturing of biological drug substances for early-phase clinical trials, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and a strong commitment to continuous innovation in biopharmaceutical production.
Your Responsibilities
- Hands-on execution and troubleshooting of upstream manufacturing processes in a GMP-regulated environment
- Drafting, updating, and technical review of SOPs and electronic master batch records related to process transfers and GMP manufacturing
- Active contribution to continuous improvement initiatives and support for the integration of new technologies, including non-GMP engineering runs
- Material management via ERP systems (SAP) and coordination of supply-related tasks
- Participation in sampling activities, including occasional on-call or weekend duties as required by process scheduling
- Ensuring full compliance with GMP principles and EHS standards within the area of responsibility
Your Profile
- Academic background in a relevant discipline (Bachelor's or Master's degree in biotechnology, life sciences, or a related field)
- Minimum 1–2 years of practical experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Prior hands-on experience with biologics manufacturing under GMP, ideally including shake flask work, wave systems, and single-use bioreactors
- Familiarity with automated manufacturing systems (e.g. DeltaV) and electronic batch record platforms (e.g. PAS-X) is a strong advantage
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a complex GMP environment, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
- Business fluent in German (C1) and English (B2+), both written and spoken
- Residence within approximately 30 minutes of Schachen (LU) or willingness to relocate; driver's licence (B) required
