Senior Graphic Designer

Job description:

What you will do
The role is an important global support role in Johnson Controls’ global marketing function. The role will support the Group Brand Management and Brand Governance function in executing Johnson Controls’ brand strategy and brand communication worldwide.

How you will do it
- Designs and lays out full spectrum of Brand strategy deliverables for diverse internal and external audiences 
- Provides layout and clear documentation for brand guidelines and brand templates working with the brand governance team 
- Develops concept layouts, mockups, and illustrations to aid in the visualization of branded materials and design 
- Provides copy writing for global newsletters, incl summarizing updates and outlining key programs 
- Provides conventional and animated designs for electronic mediums, requiring a thorough knowledge of the necessary graphics design software systems
- Supports development of mediums for Johnson Controls inter- and intranet sites, electronic mail banners, newsletters, invitations, flyers, etc.
- Ideates word concepts to clearly describe new sets of products
- Develops copy examples to showcase the impact of new messaging strategies
- Manages graphic design workflow and provides projected delivery dates on new graphic projects, and updates delivery dates as necessary. Provides recommendations and projected cost estimates for outsourcing when necessary.
- Provides graphic design direction and critical evaluation for Brand projects produced by others, to ensure creativity and conformity to Controls Group design standards.
- Conducts evaluations of Johnson Controls photo and art libraries; ensuring libraries meet JCI project needs.
- Provides recommendations on stock photo purchases and related subscription services; stays abreast of industry trends regarding purchasing and managing image libraries.
- Archives Brand project files and ensure up-to-date, accessible and secure files.
- Support management of global brand repository incl repository updates and responding to employee inquiries
- Performs other Marketing duties as required

Required profile:

What we look for
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Graphic Arts 
- Minimum of six years design experience in graphic arts, in a corporate communications/graphics department or ad agency setting.
- Minimum of 3 years in supporting design and writing for brand projects
- Fluency in English, ideally to a native level
- Preferable to have relevant experience in articulating brand communications 

Thorough Knowledge Of
- Expertise in publishing systems and networks, i.e. Apple OS, Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat 
- Expertise in design application software for both print and web to include: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat. Minimum of five years experience in each.
- Application utilities to include font managers, disk/system optimization, etc.
- Ability to analyse project demands and available resources and coordinate multiple projects through completion on schedule.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
