About the job
Field of activity: Space, energy and industry
As part of the development of our Naval Division, we are looking for the Manager of our Electrical, Automation & Robotics technical office.
Our organisation is primarily structured around our projects. We are therefore looking for a technical and operational manager, capable of leading a multidisciplinary team and ensuring its contribution to the success of our projects in terms of Quality, Costs and Deadlines.
Above all, we are looking for a leader capable of making a technical team succeed.
You know how to set clear objectives, define priorities and request precise commitments. You monitor their achievement and intervene quickly when a project deviates.
You know how to create engagement, but also maintain a high level of demand. You are able to challenge your teams and implement the necessary action plan when the situation requires it, while maintaining a professional and constructive working environment.
You do not just observe or pass on difficulties: you take charge of them, organise their resolution and ensure that they are effectively closed.
You also know how to rely on the experts in your team. Your role is not to replace them, but to provide them with a framework, priorities, resources and decisions that enable them to succeed.
In this respect, a solid technical culture is essential to understand the issues, challenge solutions, make decisions and mobilise the right skills when projects encounter difficulties.
What you achieve:
You manage and develop the team bringing together skills in electricity, automation and robotics: organisation, distribution of responsibilities, definition of priorities, workload monitoring and support for employees.
You anticipate resource and skill needs, actively participate in recruitment, integration and development of your team members.
You organise the office activities according to project priorities and arbitrate resource allocation when several projects compete.
You provide direct support to Project Managers to manage issues within your domain and ensure that the solutions developed meet performance, quality, cost and deadline objectives.
You ensure that technical difficulties are taken in hand, structured and carried through to resolution, mobilising the necessary experts and arbitrating when required.
You challenge your team’s technical choices and estimates, identify risks early enough and implement necessary actions to avoid their impact on projects.
You coordinate interfaces between your team and other trades involved in our machines and installations: mechanics, welding, hydraulics, calculation, testing, manufacturing and project management.
You are responsible for meeting your office’s commitments and implement the level of management and demand necessary to achieve agreed objectives.
You are a credible point of contact with our suppliers and subcontractors specialised in electrical, automation and robotics solutions: issuing requisitions, clarifying needs, reviewing proposed solutions, monitoring studies and realisations, handling discrepancies and managing corrective actions.
You intervene when necessary in our workshops, at our subcontractors or on client sites to help teams resolve difficulties encountered and secure project milestones.
You contribute to structuring and improving the office’s methods, standards, tools and processes to increase its efficiency and the robustness of delivered solutions.
What you bring:
Higher engineering education or equivalent in a relevant technical field: electrical engineering, automation, robotics, mechatronics or industrial machines.
Significant experience in the development and realisation of special machines or complex industrial equipment.
Proven experience in managing technical teams, ideally multidisciplinary.
Good understanding of industrial electrical architectures, automation, control-command systems and robotics enabling dialogue with specialists, challenging their proposals and arbitrating issues.
Experience working in a project-based organisation, with strong constraints on scheduling, costs, quality and technical interfaces.
Ability to manage several subjects simultaneously, identify priorities and make decisions in a demanding environment.
Ability to work effectively with Project Managers and other managers of the design office, and to translate project objectives into priorities and commitments for your team.
Experience in managing technical suppliers or subcontractors.
Leadership, sense of responsibility, organisational skills and a results-oriented mindset.
Ability to handle difficulties in a factual, direct and pragmatic manner.
Very good level of English, both spoken and written. Occasional travel to Switzerland, Europe and the United States is to be expected.
What we offer:
A management role with direct impact on the success of strategic projects in our Naval Division.
Complex industrial projects combining mechanics, welding, electricity, automation and robotics.
Strong autonomy in organising and developing your team.
An international environment and direct collaboration with our clients and industrial partners.
A growing company where initiative, responsibility and solution-seeking are valued.
A stable family business with a long-term development strategy.
A modern working environment in Aigle, in the heart of the Chablais
