Job Description
The Vaud Climate Plan aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support adaptations to climate change. From January 2027, municipalities will benefit from cantonal support and financial assistance to renovate their buildings and sustainably develop their school sites. For the 93 school establishments, the goal is to combat the urban heat island effect by supporting municipalities in their projects to reduce soil impermeability, green outdoor spaces, install solar protection for buildings and schoolyards, and collect rainwater.
In a context marked by significant climate challenges, you will contribute to making educational places models of environmental exemplarity that promote local biodiversity and aim to improve the well-being of children and professional teams.
Join the Organisation and Planning Unit, a dynamic and passionate team, to collaborate with numerous cantonal and municipal partners on this innovative cantonal project.
Responsibilities
Ensure the implementation of the subsidy granting system for municipalities and school associations within the framework of EMPD_24_LEG_105 for the sustainable adaptation and redevelopment of municipal school sites.
Advise and support municipalities, school associations, and school management in renovation and outdoor redevelopment projects of school sites.
Lead and coordinate projects in collaboration with partner state services concerning the development of school sites.
Develop reference documents for school management, municipalities, and school associations.
Set up tools, dashboards, and monitoring indicators for requests and subsidy accounting.
Collaboration and work organisation must be established with the administrative collaborator responsible for the programme files.

Qualifications
Degree in nature management/environmental engineering, HES/EPFL architect / HES landscape architect or equivalent qualification required.
Project management experience required.
Additional training (CAS, MAS or equivalent) in ecology and environmental science, sustainable development, environmental education through nature) desired.
Three years of professional experience related to the field (architecture, landscape architecture, environmental engineering).
Sense of responsibility and public service ethics. Adaptability and flexibility. Good listening and communication skills.
Good organisational and time management skills. Strong writing skills. Analytical and synthesis abilities. Creativity.
- On request, the collaborator may be required to participate in seminars, conferences or other events outside usual working hours (evenings).
Driving licence essential.
