The Social Welfare Office of the Canton of Schaffhausen fulfils overarching tasks in the areas of social assistance, victim support, and advance maintenance payments. It manages the Equal Opportunities, Violence Prevention and Protection Office and is responsible for the approval, financing, and supervision of institutions for adults with disabilities as well as for residential child and youth services. Furthermore, the office undertakes tasks on behalf of the federal government related to the accommodation, support, integration promotion, and material assistance of persons from the asylum and refugee sector.
In the area of unaccompanied minors (UMA/MNA), we are looking to fill the following position immediately or by arrangement:

In the area of unaccompanied minors (UMA/MNA), we are looking to fill the following position immediately or by arrangement:
Social Pedagogue (m/f), 80 %
What to expect- Social pedagogical support and assistance for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers
- Promotion of living skills and social interaction
- Contact person for all concerns of the young people and active involvement in organising their leisure time
- Planning, designing, and conducting leisure and holiday activities
- Conveying values, norms, and everyday relevant skills
- Work in a dynamic 24-hour operation with day and evening shifts as well as occasional weekend and night duties
What you bring
- Completed training in social pedagogy (HF), social work with a focus on social pedagogy (FH), or a comparable qualification
- Professional experience working with children and young people, ideally in a residential setting
- Experience in the asylum sector is an advantage
- Enjoyment in social pedagogical support and development of young people with special care needs
- Interest in shaping and further developing our services
- Independent, flexible, team-oriented, and humorous personality
- Good user knowledge of the MS Office suite
