Our Directorate employs nearly 700 people who work every day in the fields of social insurance, employment, social benefits, integration, combating racism, equality, LGBTIQ+ policy, as well as in sport and senior citizen affairs. Together, they actively contribute to strengthening social cohesion and quality of life within our city.
The Lausanne Office for Immigrants (BLI) (www.lausanne.ch/bli), attached to the Municipal Councillor and the General Secretariat of the Directorate of Sports and Social Cohesion (SCS), is the City’s reference centre of expertise in the areas of integration, racism prevention, and combating discrimination.
Its mission is to promote an inclusive, diverse, and participatory Lausanne society, where every person, regardless of their origin, background, or situation, finds their place and fully participates in collective life. The BLI is also the primary contact point for newly arrived people in Lausanne and supports numerous community projects aimed at fostering integration, intercultural dialogue, and civic participation.
To steer the development of municipal policies on integration, combating racism and discrimination, and to lead the BLI, we are seeking our future Delegate for Integration and Head of the BLI.

Main Mission(s)
Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of municipal policies on integration, combating racism and discrimination, and prevention
Manage the BLI, composed of around 10 people: organise, support, and plan the teams’ work, and supervise the various thematic units
Define, develop, and lead strategic and cross-cutting projects, including the relevant stakeholders
Develop and maintain links and networks with communities and associations present in Lausanne, and support the work of the Lausanne Integration Commission (CLI)
Prepare the annual budget, ensure financial monitoring, including seeking external funding
Analyse legislative, social, and political developments at the cantonal, Swiss, and international levels to anticipate their impact on the City; advise and support the service management and municipal political authorities on specific issues within these fields
Represent Lausanne’s interests within regional, cantonal, federal, and international bodies
Develop institutional and associative partnerships to strengthen the coherence and impact of municipal actions
Profile
University Master’s degree in humanities, social sciences, political science, law, or equivalent qualification
Recognised additional training in management and team leadership, required
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in migration, integration, diversity, inclusion, racism prevention, combating discrimination, and/or intercultural communication
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in team leadership and managing strategic and institutional projects
Excellent knowledge of Swiss political mechanisms and the functioning of public administration
Excellent knowledge of migration issues, integration policies, and intercultural dynamics
Good knowledge of legislation relating to foreign nationals’ rights and naturalisation procedures is an asset
Strong analytical skills, strategic vision, and ability to lead change
Unifying leadership, good listening skills, relational intelligence, and a collaborative spirit
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office tools
Good knowledge of English (minimum B2 level); proficiency in one or more migration languages is an asset
