The Mobility and Public Space Planning Service (MAP) is a key player in the challenges related to the development of the Vaud capital. It acts, as a leader or privileged partner, on many major projects shaping the city of tomorrow. It also has the mission to maintain and develop quality communal public spaces.

As an intern, you will participate in various exciting and diverse projects touching on different aspects of urban mobility: parking, speed moderation, road safety campaigns, accessibility, multimodal planning, urban development, urban logistics.
Duration
Internship contract lasting 6 months
Main Mission(s)
Contribute to the implementation of the city’s parking policy measures
Support initiatives aimed at calming traffic and improving road safety
Participate in the inventory of infrastructure defects and the planning of improvements across the entire communal network
Provide support in implementing accessibility policy measures by zone (higher-level planning, PALM, communal master plan)
Contribute to development projects including various modes of transport (bus, bicycle, walking, individual transport) for better urban mobility
Support major urban development projects by providing our mobility expertise to the Urban Planning Service
Assist with strategic thinking and documentation to develop an innovative urban logistics strategy for Lausanne
Profile
Student in the final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, specialising in transport or territorial development and urban planning (DTU), or another ENAC specialisation with a minor in DTU
Strong analytical mind coupled with a high capacity for synthesis
Proficiency in QGIS and Excel required; proficiency in database management software is an asset
Advanced command of French; knowledge of English and German is an asset
