Senior Accountant 100% Fribourg

I am recruiting for a recognised international group based in the canton of Fribourg an Experienced Accountant at 100% on a permanent contract.

This opportunity is aimed at a senior accounting profile wishing to evolve towards greater leadership responsibilities or at a person already having some management experience. Formal management experience is not essential if you have demonstrated your ability to coordinate, support, train or coach colleagues.

Responsibilities

Accounting and Closings

• Supervise the accounting activities of several entities under your responsibility
• Actively participate in monthly and annual closings
• Prepare and validate certain complex accounting entries
• Analyse results and contribute to financial reporting
• Ensure the quality and reliability of the financial data produced

Management and Team Support

• Lead, support and develop a team of generalist accountants
• Organise priorities and coordinate activities to ensure deadlines are met
• Provide technical support on complex accounting issues
• Participate in the skills development of colleagues through coaching and knowledge sharing
• Foster a positive and collaborative team dynamic

Business Partnering and Projects

• Be the preferred contact for various internal stakeholders on general accounting matters
• Participate in continuous improvement and process optimisation projects
• Contribute to strengthening internal control and compliance with the group’s accounting rules
• Regularly collaborate with diverse contacts in an international environment

Candidate Profile

• Federal diploma as a specialist in finance and accounting or equivalent training
• Proven experience in general accounting
• Experience gained within an international group, industrial environment or firm with exposure to complex clients
• Strong knowledge of Swiss accounting standards and ideally IFRS
• Professional level English B2
• Very good command of Excel and an ERP (SAP is an asset)
• First management or transversal leadership experience
• Used to training, supporting or coaching colleagues
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal ease
• Ability to unite a team and create a positive dynamic
• Ease interacting with various stakeholders, including managers and financial directors
• Ability to convey sometimes complex messages and support change
• Positive, dynamic personality, open to others and solution-oriented
• Comfortable in demanding and constantly evolving environments
• Ability to take a step back while remaining operational
