Role:
In this role, you actively shape modern workplace services around Exchange, M365, and collaboration and take responsibility in an agile environment with direct impact. You ensure stable operation and 2nd-level support of Microsoft Exchange (on-premises and online) and operate, administer, and support Microsoft 365 focusing on Exchange, Active Directory, Entra ID, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint Online. Additionally, you advise internal stakeholders, clarify requirements, design and evaluate solution scenarios, and make architectural decisions. You work in agile projects, take on technical responsibility, and handle security issues in collaboration with M365 Defender. Furthermore, you operate and further develop SMTP relay connectors, automate processes with PowerShell, and use tools such as TOPdesk, Jira, and Confluence to efficiently support operations.
Responsibilities:
Operate, administer, and support Exchange on-premises and online at 2nd-level support
Further develop Microsoft 365 with Entra ID, Active Directory, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint Online
Design solution scenarios, make architectural decisions, and provide technical advice to stakeholders
Operate SMTP relay, mail flow, and message tracking, and conduct root cause and security analyses
Automate processes and interfaces with PowerShell and provide technical guidance in agile projects
Qualifications:
IT education with a university degree or comparable qualification
Several years of experience with Exchange on-premises/online and Microsoft 365
Solid knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint Online
Experience with solution design, PowerShell, and M365 Defender; TOPdesk, Jira, and Confluence are advantageous
Very good German, high customer orientation, and experience in complex IT organisations are advantageous

- Flexible working hours: At ZHAW, the working time is 42 hours per week for a 100% workload. For part-time employees, it is based on the agreed employment level. It is generally distributed over 5 days, with Saturday and Sunday off. Due to school operations on Saturdays, some staff must also work on Saturdays. A positive working time balance can be compensated hourly or by taking days off.
