Automation & Instrumentation Technician (M/F)

Location: Monthey (Valais, Switzerland)

Contract type: Temporary assignment of 6 months

We are looking for one of our clients in the chemical & pharmaceutical industry sector, an Automation & Instrumentation Technician. Reporting to the Automation & Maintenance team, you ensure the reliability, safety and optimisation of production equipment:

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance as well as troubleshooting of the site's automation and instrumentation installations.

• Equipment availability: Guarantee the proper functioning of the instrumentation loop and PLCs (sensors, control valves, process PLCs).

• Calibrations & Improvement: Perform regular calibrations, participate in failure analyses and propose continuous improvement actions.

• Commissioning & Compliance: Contribute to modifications and commissioning of new equipment, in strict compliance with HSE requirements and GMP standards.

• Support & Documentation: Ensure the updating of technical documentation and provide daily support to production teams.

Profile Sought

Education:

• Federal VET Diploma as Automation Technician, ES Technician OR Bachelor / Master HES in Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience & Skills:

• VET / Technician profile: Minimum 3 to 5 years of practical experience within a process industry (chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, etc.). Or HES / Junior profile: Strong field interest, responsiveness, adaptability and ambition to eventually evolve towards a site/project management role.

• Technical skills:

  • Mastery of Siemens PLCs (S7 / TIA Portal) and industrial networks.

  • Knowledge of a SCADA system (ideally iFix).

  • Experience or strong sensitivity to highly regulated environments (GMP).

• Communication skills and ease in multidisciplinary team work.
