What you can contribute

• epidemiological expertise in the field of infectious diseases: statistically analyse data from various surveillance and reporting systems of the FOPH and interpret them in the context of the public health action cycle
• write epidemiological reports for different communication channels (FOPH website, presentations, conference talks, media requests, etc.)
• collaborate with national and international partners such as national reference laboratories and academic institutions and organise events
• participate in joint projects and tasks conducted by different sections of the FOPH or with other federal offices and cantonal services (e.g. workshops with cantonal medical services, national strategies, updating legal bases, reporting guidelines, responses to political questions)

What makes you unique

• university degree in medicine or natural sciences with postgraduate training in epidemiology or biostatistics, or a master’s in public health
• good command of preparing and presenting epidemiological data using R software

-initial, postgraduate or regular continuing education [GOF1.1] justified in the field of infectious diseases or microbiology

• analytical and conceptual mind; excellent writing skills; ideally, knowledge of the functioning of the federal administration
• good active knowledge of two official languages and English
• team spirit and communication skills, sense of responsibility, goal- and results-oriented work, flexibility in crisis situations, stress resistance
