DevOps & Reliability Engineer (m/f/d)

The application covers the entire administrative process: from the tax register through assessments and invoicing to debt collection and loss certificate management. A new generation of software is currently being developed – an exciting project that combines technical expertise and innovative power. A demanding engineering role for a personality who not only wants to operate modern IT services but also continuously improve them in terms of availability, security, and efficiency. The focus is on DevOps, site reliability, automation, and security in containerised cloud environments.
In addition to technical implementation, you can expect diverse tasks around incident management, observability, identity & access management, and business continuity. Modern AI-assisted tools and automated processes are naturally part of everyday work.
Responsibilities:
Operation and continuous optimisation of containerised platforms and customer environments
Automation of deployments and operational processes with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and scripting
Development and enhancement of observability, monitoring, and logging solutions to improve reliability and performance
Participation in DevSecOps topics including security checks, identity & access management, web application security, and penetration tests
Establishment and further development of incident, backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
Collaboration with various engineering teams, structured documentation, and active sharing of knowledge and best practices
Qualifications:
Education or degree in computer science or a comparable technical qualification at HF, FH, or university level
Several years of professional experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, system engineering, or cloud operations
Very good knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker as well as experience with cloud infrastructures
Experience with GitLab, Argo CD, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code; knowledge of corresponding automation and monitoring tools is a plus
Familiarity with ITIL, SLI/SLO, incident management, and the requirements for highly available IT services
Very good German skills, good English skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented, and team-oriented working style
