About the job
To manage a population of over 150,000 inhabitants, the Lausanne Residents Control Service (CH) is responsible for maintaining the residents' register by processing more than 50,000 change of address notifications (moving out/moving in) per year. The Service is also tasked with preparing and submitting residence and settlement permit applications for the foreign population to the competent cantonal authorities. To complement our legal department, we are looking for a census agent who enjoys both office work and fieldwork.

Main Mission(s)
Analyse the list of unoccupied dwellings according to the residents' register
Determine the actual occupancy of "empty" dwellings by conducting the necessary investigations (field visits)
Identify undeclared residents and take the necessary measures to register them in the population register and, if necessary, to apply for their residence permit
Establish and maintain a dashboard to monitor the progress of processed cases
Profile
Commercial employee certificate (CFC) or equivalent qualification
Population office specialist certificate, preferred
Minimum 3 years of professional experience within a residents control service
Knowledge of the Federal Act on the Harmonisation of Registers (LHR)
Excellent physical condition, frequent travel on foot and by public transport
Ability to successfully defuse potentially sensitive situations
Proficiency in MS Office tools, including excellent Excel skills
Good oral skills in English and German (level B1 or B2), other languages an asset
