Research Officer in Entomology at 80-100%
Your mission and responsibilities
- Conduct scientific research work independently, in accordance with the institution's scientific policy.
- Write scientific publications at national and international levels and provide training for young scientists.
- Participate in the management (organisation, digitisation, loans and conservation) and development of the entomology collections within the Invertebrates sector.
- Ensure the transmission of knowledge to a wide audience by taking part in outreach activities and exhibition design.
- Assist your superior in the performance of their duties and stand in for them during their absences.
Your profile
- Hold a PhD in biology and have at least one year of postdoctoral experience, with expertise in insects, preferably in the Hymenoptera group.
- Demonstrate excellent publication skills and success in obtaining external funding.
- Have experience in collection management and research, conduct study programmes in taxonomy, systematics and evolution, as well as in the promotion of regional and international biodiversity, and demonstrate a good understanding of the importance and role of collections and research in natural history museums.
- Show autonomy, be able to work in a team and collaborate in networks with other similar institutions at national and international levels.
- Master the English language orally and in writing, and ideally French, or commit to learning it quickly, with excellent analytical and synthesis skills, initiative, and proven abilities in team management, organisation and science communication.
