The Social Welfare Office of the Canton of Schaffhausen fulfils overarching tasks in the areas of social assistance and alimony support, acts as the compensation authority in victim support, and is responsible for the approval, financing, and supervision of institutions for adults with disabilities. The Social Welfare Office also manages the specialist unit for equality, violence prevention, and protection against violence and is responsible for the approval of residential child and youth facilities as well as for foster care.
Furthermore, the department undertakes tasks related to the accommodation, support, integration promotion, and material assistance of persons from the asylum and refugee sector. It is responsible for a total of around 1,600 people with refugee experience in the Canton of Schaffhausen.

What to expect- Archive & Records Management: Management of the official archive according to applicable regulations, maintenance of the CMI system, monitoring of retention periods, transfer of holdings to the state archive, coordination of digital and analogue records management
- Onboarding: Organisation and support of the onboarding process for new employees
- Internet Presence & Organisation: Editorial management of the external and internal web presence, maintenance of CMS, organisational charts, and address database
- Lottery Prize Fund: Superuser of the specialist application Foundation Plus, administration of applications for financial support of aid projects, payment processing after approval, interface to the specialist departments
- Digitisation Projects: Participation in digitisation projects, especially in maintaining project plans and tracking tasks and deadlines. Creation and updating of instructions as well as support during training sessions. Participation in the creation of the Digi-Newsletter and internal information pages.
- IT Support & Inventory: 1st-level support in collaboration with the digitisation department, creation of support instructions, maintenance of IT inventory during onboarding and offboarding
What you bring
- Completed commercial basic training and professional experience in a comparable administrative role, preferably in public administration
- Experience in archive management or records management, further training in this area is an advantage
- Confident German language skills in spoken and written form, as well as enjoyment in writing clear, understandable, and appealing texts
- Confident professional handling of content management systems and website maintenance or willingness to learn this
- IT affinity for quick familiarisation with 1st-level IT support and digitisation processes
- Experience in project support as well as organisational skills
- Independent, structured, and punctual working style and strong communication skills
- Discretion and care in handling confidential personal data
