Network Development Sector Manager 80-100%

As part of the creation of a new sector within the Network department, we are recruiting a:

Your mission

In this role, you are responsible for the management and coordination of the strategic development of the Valais high voltage network (HV). You ensure the strategic management of the assets of this network, the responsibility for coordinating connections in the high voltage domain as well as contractual aspects.

Integrated within the Networks department, you guarantee the leadership and development of the sector. As such, you decisively steer the sector towards the strategic development of the network and the project portfolio. You plan and develop the necessary resources, actively encourage the development of employees’ skills – particularly in the field of Asset Management – participate actively in the management of the Networks department and directly support the department head.

You ensure close coordination with various partners such as Swissgrid, Valgrid, distribution network operators, producers, industrial partners, customers and authorities. You lead the development of the high voltage network focusing on security of supply as well as the integration of the strategic capacities required in the long term.

Among your other responsibilities are conducting studies related to network development, monitoring connection requests and managing connection and network usage contracts. Furthermore, you are responsible for managing contracts related to simple companies concerning key assets.

Your profile

• Degree in electrical engineering from EPFL / HES or equivalent training, ideally with an EMBA
• At least 5-7 years of experience in the strategic development and asset management of electrical networks
• Proven experience in team leadership
• Experience in the HV network field is an asset
• Experience in managing multidisciplinary HV projects
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Leadership ability and sense of responsibility
• Organisational and planning skills (initiative, proactivity, anticipation)
• Perseverance, reliability and flexibility
• Native French or German speaker with very good command of the other language (level C1), also very good command of English (level C1)
