HYDRO Exploitation SA is an important service provider, particularly active in the operation and maintenance of power generation plants. We bring together all the necessary skills under one roof, from maintenance personnel to engineering.
We operate and maintain a portfolio of more than 40 hydropower plants. Their installed capacity corresponds to approximately 22% of the hydropower capacity available in Switzerland (25% including the pumping stations). Together, the plants we operate generate about 16% of Switzerland's hydropower electricity.
Thanks to our unique expertise, we offer our customers services with high added value that meet their diverse needs as well as their high quality standards. Our range of services is aimed at electricity companies, public institutions, transport companies, and industry. We mainly operate in Switzerland but occasionally carry out assignments abroad.
Engineer in Maintenance & Mechanical Reliability

Your mission:
Within operations management, you play a key role in collaboration with other departments for the reliability, availability, and further development of the hydropower plants. You ensure a powerful, flexible, and sustainably future-oriented operation.
Your tasks:
- Ensuring an overall view of the technical and strategic challenges of the plants and guaranteeing their long-term coherence.
- Participation in design reviews, conducting preventive inspections during overhauls, and validating the handover of projects to operations.
- Supporting on-site teams in troubleshooting in close cooperation with the technical experts.
- Leading cross-departmental analyses, using experience feedback, and promoting a continuous improvement dynamic.
- Optimising and flexibilising maintenance work according to the challenges of each partner.
- Contributing to the integration of digitalisation projects into the operational process.
- Further developing the CMMS and contributing to the transition to Maintenance 5.0.
- Analysing plant performance via 4.0 platforms and proposing optimisation measures.
- Conducting studies on reliability and flexibilisation of maintenance to enhance operational performance.
- Developing standardised maintenance plans and tools that promote the use and exchange of knowledge.
- Designing training modules for the on-call service and participating in the engineers’ on-call duty.
Your skills:
- ETH or FH engineer in mechanical engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Strong interest in data, statistical analyses, and risk assessment methods.
- Pronounced sense for digital innovation and new technologies, good programming skills.
- Independence and initiative, strong analytical and synthetic abilities.
- Ability to handle technical challenges in a matrix organisation and coordinate various stakeholders.
- Native German or French speaker with very good knowledge of the other language.
- Excellent social skills: ability to listen, teamwork, persuasiveness, and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
