The Human Resources Department (HRD) of the City of Geneva supports the human resources management of nearly 4,000 staff members spread across 6 departments covering extremely varied fields of activity. This service, composed of around seventy people, provides cross-functional HR services in areas as diverse as training, occupational health and safety, and equality and diversity in the professional context. Your mission and responsibilities
- Handle legal matters concerning the municipal administration staff, except for HR litigation involving appointed personnel, as well as legal correspondence addressed to the HRD.
- Inform and advise the HRD, departments and services, as well as all external contacts.
- Prepare notes for the attention of the Administrative Council.
- Draft and update normative provisions regarding personnel law.
- Draft or request legal opinions.
- Support the service management in handling specific files and/or cross-cutting projects.
- Draft responses to motions, interpellations, petitions or questions from the Municipal Council in close collaboration with the service management and represent the service at various meetings or working groups.
Your profile
- Hold a Master’s degree in law or a Master’s with a lawyer’s certificate, and have proven experience in public law.
- Master administrative procedures in public law.
- Possess very good analytical, writing and synthesis skills, and demonstrate rigour and precision.
- Be comfortable in contacts and able to advise interlocutors.
- Be capable of working independently.
- Master common IT tools.
- Experience in a public administration is an asset.
