Social Worker for External Family Care

The Youth Office (JA) is committed to the children and young people of the Canton of Fribourg. It is the cantonal specialist office for the implementation of child and youth policy and youth protection.

The sector for external family care (SMA) of the JA consists of a small, dedicated team committed to the quality of childcare. The SMA is the responsible authority for the assessment, approval, supervision and support of external family care. In this varied and meaningful area of work, you can apply and further develop your social and professional skills.

This position is limited until 31 December 2027.

• Assessment, approval and supervision of day carers within the framework of the implementation of the foster care ordinance
• Support and advice for care settings

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent recognised qualification
• Interest in the areas of child protection and social pedagogy
• Ability to analyse complex situations and to recognise the essentials
• Sense of organisation, resilience, ability to work in a team
• Driving licence is a prerequisite
• Proficiency in German (spoken/written) with good knowledge of French
