The Lausanne Police Corps is tasked with ensuring the safety and quality of life of the people of Lausanne. It commits itself daily to the population with a spirit of service and dialogue.
In a context of structural reform and change, the Lausanne Municipal Police is seeking its future head of the operational staff. At the heart of operational management, you will help anticipate security challenges, coordinate resources, and support teams in carrying out the Police Corps' missions.
In this role, you will work closely with the Police Commander, members of the executive staff, and other cantonal and municipal police forces.

Main Mission(s)
Ensure the direction or general coordination of the operational activities of the Police Corps
Propose, implement, and ensure the application of proactive, preventive, and deterrent actions, according to operational analysis
Lead deployments related to specific events
Analyse and exploit operational intelligence
Manage your units with the aim of continuously improving the services offered to the population
Ensure the achievement of objectives set at the institutional level in the fields of public safety, personnel management, and allocated financial resources
Support and advise the Commander in coordination with other members of the management
Participate in setting objectives and strategic directions for the development of the Police Corps
Represent the Police Corps, establish all useful cross-sectoral relations with political authorities, municipal, cantonal and federal services, as well as with relevant stakeholders
Profile
Federal police certificate and/or university degree (Master’s, doctorate) in a field relevant to the role, required
Additional training in personnel management, ISP CAS CEP course, ISP Staff Officer CCIV course (or to be completed on the job), required
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in leadership and personnel management
Significant experience in managing large-scale operations/events
Excellent knowledge of laws, procedures, and regulations specific to the activity
Strategic vision, sense of cooperation and negotiation
Decision-making skills and leadership
Ability to anticipate and manage tensions
Ability to adapt and engage with change
