Software Developer (PAS-X Specialist)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer (MES Application Specialist) to support a business-critical manufacturing systems environment in Basel.

This role is focused on PAS-X modelling, manufacturing process documentation, master data, BOM support, and hypercare activities.
The successful candidate will work closely with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse risks, create process documentation, support batch record-related activities, and contribute to the smooth delivery and stabilisation of the solution.

Key Responsibilities

As part of this assignment, you will be responsible for:

• Gathering requirements from stakeholders and analysing them for challenges, risks, and mitigation actions.
• Creating input documents such as process flow visions and traceability matrices.
• Designing, updating, and reviewing MBRs, ESPs, GMBRs, PVLs, and PMBRs.
• Creating standard libraries for different manufacturing or system processes.
• Conducting demonstrations of PAS-X modelling capabilities.
• Supporting the maintenance and update of master data and Bills of Materials / BOMs.
• Providing support during the hypercare phase, including participation in a 5-day, 3-shift support model.

Shift Coverage During Hypercare

During the hypercare phase, support coverage will be required across three shifts:

• 06:00 - 14:00
• 14:00 - 22:00
• 22:00 - 06:00

Coverage is expected from Sunday 22:00 to Friday 22:00.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in application server technologies, MES-related environments, and PAS-X modelling.

You should bring:

• Proven experience with PAS-X modelling or PAS-X-related implementation/support activities.
• Experience gathering and analysing business or technical requirements.
• Ability to identify risks, challenges, and appropriate mitigation actions.
• Experience creating process documentation, traceability matrices, or similar project documentation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing execution processes and batch record-related documentation.
• Experience working with master data and BOMs.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to demonstrate system capabilities to stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in an L4-level technical or functional support capacity.
• Willingness to provide shift-based support during the hypercare phase.

Nice to Have

The following would be advantageous:

• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Previous involvement in MES go-live or hypercare phases.
• Experience with MBR, GMBR, PMBR, PVL, or similar manufacturing documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across business, IT, and production teams.
