Specialist, Health Finance (m/f/d)
Geneva | Contract role starting ASAP until Dec 2027
We are looking for a Health Finance Specialist with strong expertise in health economics and health financing systems to support countries in strengthening financial sustainability and domestic health financing.
You will advise on financing strategies, reforms, and resource use, working closely with governments and international partners to advance sustainable and equitable health systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop financial sustainability and transition plans
- Provide expertise in health financing, costing, efficiency, and insurance systems
- Support financing design, negotiations, and implementation
- Manage technical assistance and capacity-building activities
- Analyze data and engage with country stakeholders and global partners
- Contribute to innovative financing approaches
Your Profile
- Advanced degree in health economics, health financing, economics, or public health
- Strong experience in health financing, public finance, or development finance
- Experience supporting countries to strengthen health financing systems
- Proven collaboration with partners such as:
- Global Fund, Gavi, WHO, bilateral donors
- Ministries of Health / Finance, technical agencies
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Fluent English; good French preferred
Ideal Candidate
- Solid academic background in health economics / health financing
- Experience working with development partners and country programmes
- Ability to translate analysis into practical policy solutions
