Metadata manager (Contract)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Metadata manager to support enterprise data governance and metadata management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Curate and maintain business, technical, and operational metadata (catalogs, glossaries, lineage)
• Coordinate with data stewards to ensure accurate ownership, tagging, and descriptions
• Map data lineage across systems and platforms
• Support compliance with data privacy and security policies
• Deliver workshops, documentation, and training to drive catalog adoption
• Track governance, usage, and data quality metrics

Required Profile

• 7+ years' experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Engineering
• Hands"‘on experience with enterprise data catalogs (e.g. Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Alex Solutions)
• Strong SQL and experience with modern data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Athena)
• Experience with metadata schemas, taxonomies, and automation (Python/APIs)
• Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills

Nice to have: Public sector experience and project management skills.
