Job Description
Medication distribution and logistical assistance
- Carry out orders from care units and prepare deliveries.
- Distribute medications to care units (nurses, doctors), perform computer entries and verify delivery operations.
- Collect necessary logistical information (price, type of packaging, storage conditions, etc.) on various medications.
- Provide care units with logistical information on medication use (package sizes, available forms, storage conditions, etc.).
Stock management and maintenance
- Place medication orders with wholesalers and suppliers.
- Set up medications at the central pharmacy and in certain care unit pharmacies.
- Check stock quantities and correct stock errors at the central pharmacy.
- Check expiry dates at the central pharmacy and care unit pharmacies, remove expired and dormant products, return them to distributors or destroy them.
- Manage medication returns from care units.
Administrative management
- Prepare billing for services to care units.
- Perform various simple administrative tasks (labelling, filing, archiving narcotics records, etc.).
- Update product files in the management software.
- Transmit modifications and creations for the electronic patient record software.
Qualifications
- Federal Certificate of Capacity as Pharmacy Assistant (CFC)
- Knowledge of Opale software (an advantage)
