What you can contribute
- As Chief of Information at the Federal Chancellery, you lead the Communication Department with various sections and around 40 employees, and are responsible for its strategic and operational management in personnel, professional, content-related, organisational and financial matters
- You report to the Vice-Chancellor and Federal Council Spokesperson and support their mandate to lead the Federal Council's communication in all situations and coordinate with the departments
- You are responsible for the communication of the Federal Chancellery
- On behalf of the Federal Council Spokesperson, you ensure the quality-compliant and timely support and strategic development of the information offerings for the Federal Council, the Federal Chancellery and authority communication on ch.ch
- You also deal with the opportunities and risks of new technologies for institutional communication
- As deputy to the Federal Council Spokesperson, you fully represent them in their respective tasks at Federal Council meetings or other committees during their absence
What makes you unique
- University degree in communication or another functionally relevant field as well as several years of leadership experience in a comparably demanding role
- Several years of experience in institutional or corporate communication, preferably in the political sector
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong presentation competence
- Comprehensive understanding of the dynamics in the interplay between politics, media and the public
- Diplomatic demeanour and very high commitment and availability
- Very good active knowledge of two official languages and English, at least passive knowledge of the third official language

The Federal Chancellery – The Staff Unit of the Federal Council
As the staff unit of the Federal Council, the Federal Chancellery supports the government in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of Federal Council meetings. It leads and coordinates the communication of the Federal Council and develops political planning for the government. It organises Federal Council events in corpore and supports the Federal Presidency. Furthermore, the Federal Chancellery organises referendums and elections at the federal level. It is the contact point for initiative or referendum committees and examines the validity of popular initiatives. In addition, the Federal Chancellery supports and coordinates the digital transformation of the federal administration.
