The Dean's Office of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) is tasked with organising and managing all activities of the faculty. The faculty is composed of two sections: Clinical Sciences (SSC) and Fundamental Sciences (SSF), structured into 10 departments.
The Dean's Office defines and implements faculty policy to support the development of research, teaching, and academic succession.
To strengthen its financial governance and anticipate the retirement of the current post holder, the FBM Dean's Office is announcing a vacancy for the position of:

Your Responsibilities
Within the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM), you report directly to the Faculty Administrator and are responsible for managing all faculty finances as well as leading the financial unit.
In this strategically significant role, you oversee a budget representing nearly 40% of UNIL's total budget, covering a complex institutional scope involving UNIL, CHUV, and Unisanté. You support the Dean's Office in financial decision-making, contribute to defining and implementing the faculty's financial strategy, and ensure the development of the internal control system.
In close partnership with UNIL's Central Financial Service, you ensure the consistency of financial practices, the application of institutional standards, and the evolution of financial management processes within the Faculty.
Specifically, the role includes the following tasks:
• Leading the complete process of preparing the FBM's annual budget and its budgetary control, particularly for departments attached to the Fundamental Sciences Section (SSF) of the FBM;
• Managing and supervising the Faculty's accounting and financial processes and ensuring their compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements;
• Supporting and coordinating the financial correspondents of the SSF departments, promoting harmonisation of practices and sharing of best practices;
• Leading and developing the FBM financial unit, supporting its staff, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement;
• Identifying financial risks, preparing medium- and long-term projections, and actively contributing to the Dean's Office's strategic reflections;
• Developing dashboards, indicators, analytical tools, and internal control mechanisms necessary for the Faculty's financial management.
Your Profile
You hold a federal diploma in accounting and/or finance or a university degree (bachelor's or master's) in the field.
You have solid experience in financial management of complex organisations, ideally in an academic environment or the public sector, and are able to transform financial data into effective decision-making tools. You possess an excellent understanding of governance, internal control, and risk management issues.
You have a strong service orientation, a developed sense of collaboration, and the ability to align multiple interests around common goals. You have proven experience in team leadership, change management, and supporting organisational transformations.
You enjoy interpersonal contact, are comfortable in human relations, and possess excellent team management skills.
Among other qualities, you demonstrate:

• IT Skills: Proficiency in common IT tools, notably the SAP S4 software package;
• Languages: Excellent command of French with strong writing skills and good level of English (minimum B2 level, spoken and written).
