Senior Accountant – 100% | Geneva

Sigma Suisse is looking for a

to take charge of the entire accounting for its activities and contribute to managing their financial performance.

As a true financial reference for the Swiss scope, you will be responsible for general accounting, taxation, treasury as well as part of management control. You will work closely with Management, Human Resources and external partners.

Your responsibilities

General accounting – 75%

• Ensure the complete maintenance of accounting: clients, suppliers, banks, fixed assets and various operations
• Prepare monthly and annual closings as well as balance sheets and profit and loss accounts
• Prepare tax declarations, notably VAT and corporate tax, and prepare periodic controls by the Federal Tax Administration
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure daily treasury monitoring
• Prepare audit files and coordinate exchanges with external auditors
• Monitor factoring, collections, open items and credit limits with the external partner
• Check payroll elements in collaboration with the HR Manager, validate deferred tax assets and ensure reconciliations
• Provide operational backup during absences, notably for payments and managing the Invoice mailbox

Management control – 25%

• Produce monthly reporting and analyse the profitability and productivity of employees and different entities
• Identify variances and make recommendations to Management
• Participate in preparing the annual budget in collaboration with Management
• Monitor variances between budget and actual and contribute to analysing financial performance

Your profile

• Higher education in accounting, finance or equivalent
• Minimum 6 to 10 years of experience in accounting, ideally acquired in a Swiss environment
• Excellent knowledge of Swiss accounting and Swiss taxation
• Experience with closings, audits and VAT declarations
• Experience in management control / financial analysis is a real asset
• Autonomous, rigorous and with a good analytical mind
• Ability to work operationally while having a global vision of financial issues
• Comfortable in an international environment and with various stakeholders
• Very good command of IT tools and ideally an accounting ERP
• Fluent French and professional English desired
