The Science Promotion Service (SPS) at EPFL develops programmes and activities aimed at schools, young people, families and the general public to spark interest in science and technology and to strengthen the dialogue between science and society.
We are looking for a communications officer who will coordinate and produce the service’s communication activities. In collaboration with the SPS teams, institutional partners and EPFL communication services, this person will help to enhance the visibility, coherence and impact of SPS programmes through creative, accessible communication tailored to its various audiences.
- Implement SPS communication actions to promote its activities to different target audiences.
- Design, produce and coordinate content for digital and printed media.
- Manage and animate the website and social media channels.
- Ensure message consistency and compliance with EPFL’s visual and editorial identity.
- Design templates, guides and practical tools to help teams produce communication materials that are coherent and conform to EPFL’s identity.
- Contribute to monitoring and improving communication actions.
You are an organised, creative and autonomous person with excellent writing skills and a strong interest in scientific communication and science promotion. You enjoy producing quality content, working in a team and coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations or equivalent training.
- Proven experience in digital communication and project management.
- Excellent writing skills in French and good command of English. Knowledge of German is a real asset.
- Proficiency with digital communication tools (website management, newsletters, social media) and graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or equivalent).
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team spirit.
- Organisational skills, rigour, autonomy and initiative.
- Creativity, sense of messaging and ability to adapt communication to different audiences.
- Experience in an academic, educational or institutional environment, as well as good knowledge of the Swiss educational landscape, is an advantage.
