Technical Operations Coordinator, Prototype & Sample Execution
The Technical Operations Coordinator, Prototype & Sample Execution coordinates engineering and customer sample builds from release through shipment. The role is the operational interface between engineering, production, planning, quality, logistics, procurement and approved external suppliers, ensuring that prerequisites are available, progress is visible and execution risks are escalated promptly.
The primary objective is to reduce preventable delays, improve execution quality through complete and unambiguous build inputs, provide clear status visibility, and offload operational coordination from Project Managers, Technical Project Leaders and Product Line Managers. Product design, process definition, technical release decisions and supplier qualification remain with the responsible technical and functional owners.
Job responsibilities
Sample Build Coordination
- Coordinate engineering and customer sample builds from release through shipment.
- Maintain a live overview of build status, priorities, blockers, due dates and shipment readiness.
- Follow up daily with internal and external stakeholders to keep execution on schedule.
- Organise build-readiness and status reviews when needed.
- Escalate delays, unclear ownership or missing prerequisites to the appropriate responsible person.
Build Readiness and Work Order Management
- Create, follow up and close engineering work orders for sample builds.
- Create and maintain BOMs and routings according to approved inputs from the responsible engineers.
- Confirm that drawings, specifications, materials, tooling, inspection requirements and process steps are available before execution starts.
- Communicate clear and complete expectations when triggering internal or external work, minimising iterative clarification.
- Maintain revision discipline and build traceability in the relevant systems.
Material, Supplier and Logistics Coordination
- Raise purchase requests and follow up orders required for engineering builds.
- Locate and coordinate the availability of raw materials, indirect materials, consumables and approved packaging.
- Follow up approved suppliers regarding processing slots, lead times, delivery dates and returns.
- Coordinate sample-related shipments and required documentation with Planning and Logistics.
- Flag shortages, delivery risks and inefficient support processes early.
Execution Monitoring and Communication
- Follow the progress of builds through clean-room, external processing, inspection, packaging and shipment steps.
- Maintain clear visibility of ownership, status, priorities and risks for all stakeholders.
- Coordinate operational responses to bottlenecks without taking ownership of technical decisions.
- Confirm that required inspection records and shipment documentation are available before dispatch.
- Record recurring reasons for delay and support practical improvements to tracking and coordination routines.
Job Requirements
- Technical degree, technician diploma or equivalent qualification in semiconductor manufacturing or a related technical field.
- Fluent English and French, spoken and written.
- Comfortable using Excel and learning digital business tools
- Ideally 2–3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, clean-room operations, technical operations, production support or a comparable environment.
- Sufficient organisational experience to navigate a cross-functional environment, identify responsibilities and follow up effectively.
- Experience with prototype, engineering-sample or NPI activities is advantageous but not mandatory.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to create and maintain BOMs and routings from approved technical inputs.
- Good organisation, prioritisation, communication and follow-up skills.
- SAP, ERP or MES familiarity is advantageous; system troubleshooting is not part of the role.
Professional Qualities
- Persistent and proactive in following up open actions.
- Detail-oriented and structured while managing multiple builds in parallel.
- Comfortable working across engineering, manufacturing and support functions.
- Able to identify risks early, communicate them clearly and escalate to the correct owner.
- Service-oriented mindset focused on enabling high-quality execution.
We offer
- A dynamic and flexible work environment with focus on work-life balance.
- A global and multicultural company culture.
