Soybean Meal Merchant

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the buying and selling activities for SBM (soybean meal) originated in the United States and South America with the destination of Northern Europe. There is opportunity for expansion in addition to these geographic areas.
• Utilize a deep understanding of SBM marketing within the mentioned regions, including understanding of supply and demand of the commodity and how to survey market conditions.
• Apply knowledge of commodity flow details of the ports and logistics to ensure appropriate contract terms. These logistics include seagoing freight as well as truck and rail.
• Analyze relevant economic forces in order to establish position in the market.
• Initiate, negotiate and agree on terms of commodity purchase/sale contracts, such as price, quality, quantity, transportation, timing and payment.
• Research and identify new customers and/or suppliers as well as develop and maintain regular communication to build and grow current customer relationships.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of related Soybean Meal marketing experience
• Fluent in English, written and spoken, other languages are welcome
• Business Administrations and Economics degree
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
