Your mission and responsibilities
Your mission is to design and implement set elements for the productions of the Grand Théâtre. In this capacity, you will be required to:
- Design and digitally model in 3D the set elements assigned to you. Be particularly attentive to the constraints inherent to the conditions of use of a set, namely: sizing, safety conditions, workshop materials and the state of the art in construction, transport volume, assembly conditions, distribution among the various trades, as well as the final assembly.
- Produce construction and assembly plans. Construction notably concerns the fields of carpentry, metalwork, painting, and upholstery.
- Actively participate in defining construction principles and be proactive in proposing design and realisation choices.
- Ensure the manufacturing follow-up of the designed elements and regularly liaise with builders and colleagues.
- Occasionally liaise directly with the Head of Workshops to meet specific needs.
Your profile
- Hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as draftsman/builder or draftswoman/builder or an equivalent qualification, with excellent knowledge in technical drawing and theatre set construction. Experience in carpentry will be appreciated.
- Master AutoCAD or Vectorworks software as well as 3D drawing perfectly.
- Have proficiency in parametric 3D software such as SolidWorks, Onshape, or Inventor (an asset).
- Demonstrate speed, precision, and initiative, and possess communication and sharing skills that foster team spirit.
