Compulsory Education Service (SEEO) - Office of Specialised Pedagogy and Measures (OPSM)
The OPSM coordinates the care of children and young people with special educational needs as well as the activities of the bodies involved in the field of specialised pedagogy. It is responsible for the management, organisation, quality of services and finances in the field of specialised pedagogy. The OPSM determines the individual needs of children and young people, reassesses situations, allocates enhanced measures and appoints providers of enhanced measures.
Your missions
Within the scope of your activity, you collect relevant information to determine the individual needs of children and young people with special educational needs.As an SAP specialist with training as a specialised teacher, you collaborate within a multidisciplinary team with psychologists, speech therapists, psychomotor therapists and specialised teachers. You determine, within a multidimensional approach, the actual needs of children’s or pupils’ situations, based on developmental and educational objectives.You represent the OPSM in school centres and advise the management or professionals responsible for supporting pupils in great difficulty. You maintain close contact with legal representatives and the various partners involved.You also evaluate the projects of pupils benefiting from an enhanced specialised pedagogy measure or for whom such a measure is envisaged. Your professional insight allows you to propose concrete and feasible improvement avenues to schools and to conduct information or training activities. Through your expertise and knowledge of the field, you also contribute to the development of the cantonal concept of specialised pedagogy and the resulting services.
Your profile
Holder of a diploma in the field of specialised pedagogy, specialising in specialised teaching, or an equivalent qualification, you have experience with children or young people with special educational needs.You have good analytical and synthesis skills and can formulate well-founded assessments as well as clear recommendations, both orally and in writing.Your listening skills and interpersonal abilities enable you to establish constructive dialogue with families, school teams and various partners. You appreciate interdisciplinary work while demonstrating autonomy, rigour and discernment in managing your cases.Comfortable in a role combining analysis, advice and field presence, you are available for frequent travel within the canton.
