Gemologist @ 100%

Our client based in Geneva is an independent gemmology laboratory that combines cutting-edge technologies and expertise to serve the gem market and scientific research. To join their team, we are looking for a Gemologist at 100%, able to start soon on a permanent contract.

Are you passionate about gemmology, its techniques and the use of advanced analytical instruments (UV-Vis-NIR spectrometry, FTIR, EDXRF, LIBS, Raman)? Are you seeking experience in a small-scale structure? Are you a careful, meticulous person recognised for your precision, discretion, rigour and ethics?

Your main tasks

Full-time for production, your main task will be the analysis of calibrated coloured gemstones intended for the high watchmaking market as well as centre stones.

Your responsibilities

• Ensure production complies with quality and quantity standards in gemstone analysis for our clients.
• Contribute to the development of analytical protocols and adhere to them.

Your profile

• FGA or GG gemmology diploma (DUG is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in gemmology required, excellent mastery of microscopic analyses.
• Mastery of crystalline material spectrometry would be a plus (UV-Vis-NIR, EDXRF, FTIR, LIBS, Micro-Raman).
• Good management of variable production flows, you remain calm during high output periods (stress management).
• You demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, stand out for your availability and team spirit.
• Autonomous, you know how to successfully carry out projects entrusted to you in all circumstances.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office and scientific software).
• Fluency in French, good writing skills, excellent spelling.
