The Built Heritage Directorate (DPBA) of the Department of Planning, Construction and Mobility is responsible for the maintenance, renovation and development of the real estate portfolio of the City of Geneva (public buildings and rental properties). To complete our team, we are looking for a
Building Safety Engineer at 100%
Your mission and responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of people and property in buildings used by the City of Geneva and oversee the maintenance of all equipment.
- Develop, in collaboration with the service architects, safety plans and fire protection concepts during renovations or transformations.
- Validate and monitor the safety and security concepts developed by specialised contractors throughout all project phases until the commissioning of the installations.
- Act, in collaboration with the team of building safety engineers, as the point of contact for City services, competent authorities and suppliers.
- Draft calls for tenders, specifications and presentations, and complete official forms required by the authorities.
- Perform all administrative tasks necessary for the smooth running of the assignments.
- Monitor the financial progress of projects by controlling costs and ensuring compliance with the allocated budget.
- Keep up to date with technical and regulatory developments in the field of safety and propose necessary updates to maintain the required level of compliance.
- Participate in the emergency duty rota for the service's emergency number.
Your profile
- Hold a Master’s degree in EPF or HES architecture.
- Have at least 10 years of experience, including 5 in an operational role as a project manager (management and supervision of major construction sites).
- Master the current legislation in the field of fire protection and building safety.
- Have in-depth knowledge of all techniques related to intrusion and fire detection, access control, video surveillance, alarm transmission and computer networks.
- AEAI certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of the functioning of a public administration is a significant advantage.
