The Administration, Finance & Controlling (AFC) department oversees the organization’s financial operations and ensures sound fiscal management. Its responsibilities typically include budgeting, cost monitoring, and financial reporting, while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and regulations. AFC also provides financial insights to support strategic decisions and collaborates with other departments to promote efficient resource use. Through these efforts, the department contributes to the organization’s overall stability and performance.

The mission of the Financial Aid Coordinator is to support students by managing financial aid programs with fairness, accuracy, and empathy. This role ensures that students receive equitable access to resources while maintaining compliance and transparency. The coordinator combines strong analytical skills and emotional intelligence to make firm, informed decisions that uphold institutional standards and foster a positive student experience.
What will you do?
- Review, evaluate, and process student financial aid applications in compliance policies and regulations, ensuring accuracy and fairness.
- Maintain precise records of aid disbursements and student eligibility; prepare reports and analyses on aid distribution and budget impact.
- Provide clear, empathetic guidance to students and families on financial aid options; communicate decisions professionally and organize information sessions or webinars on scholarships and application processes.
- Ensure adherence to institutional, national, and international financial aid regulations; develop and update internal procedures for effective financial aid management.
- Collaborate with the accounting department to reconcile aid disbursements and student accounts; perform basic accounting tasks, including budget monitoring and variance analysis.
- Coordinate monitoring and administration of various programs such as American grants and loans, Erasmus, HES-SO, EHL, and Tschumi scholarships.
- Uphold fairness and empathy in all interactions, ensuring a positive student experience while maintaining compliance and institutional standards.
Who you are?
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- You have 10 years of professional experience, with 2 to 3 years in a similar position.
- You have experience in financial aid administration or student services; familiarity with hospitality education is a plus.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
- You are highly emotionally intelligent and socially competent, able to handle sensitive conversations with empathy.
- You are firm and objective while maintaining a positive and supportive student experience.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and can explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- You are fluent in French and English (C1), and have some basics in German (A2).
