Senior VMware & VxRail Systems Engineer / ASAP / Lausanne

Responsibilities

• Administer VMware vSphere environments.
• Manage ESXi and vCenter infrastructures.
• Ensure the operation of Dell VxRail and vSAN platforms.
• Supervise compute, storage, and network resources.
• Optimise the performance and capacity of virtualised environments.
• Perform updates, patches, and maintenance operations.
• Participate in infrastructure evolution, migration, and modernisation projects.
• Analyse and resolve complex level 3 incidents.
• Provide technical support to production teams and projects.
• Contribute to major incident management and critical situations.
• Produce and maintain technical and operational documentation.
• Ensure compliance with security and operational standards.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in VMware infrastructure administration and operation.
• Excellent command of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN.
• Proven experience with Dell VxRail platforms.
• Strong experience in critical production environments.
• Recognised expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex incidents.
• Good understanding of performance, capacity, and availability issues.
• Knowledge of Linux environments (Red Hat, Debian).
• Experience with Dell PPDM and Dell Data Domain backup solutions is appreciated.
• Knowledge of SAN, NAS, or Object Storage architectures.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Centreon or Grafana.
• Analytical mindset, autonomy, and ability to manage priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a service-oriented attitude.
