The CPEF (Fribourg State Pension Fund) is a public law institution that insures all State personnel and around 74 state-related institutions (municipalities, foundations, corporations, etc.) under the 2nd pillar. The CPEF has more than 22,000 active insured persons and over 9,000 beneficiaries. It currently holds assets of 7 billion francs and employs 32 staff members.
The Fribourg State Pension Fund is seeking an accounting manager to ensure the operational accounting management of the Fund and guarantee the quality, reliability, and compliance of financial operations. In collaboration with the Finance & Controlling Manager, they will contribute to the preparation of financial statements, monitoring accounting activities, and continuous process improvement. Playing a central role in the Fund’s accounting management, they will ensure compliance with current standards and actively participate in the Fund’s modernisation and digitalisation projects.

- Autonomous management and responsibility for the Fund’s accounting
- Coordination and management of the annual closing
- Preparation of financial statements according to Swiss GAAP RPC 26
- Organisation and active participation in the audit process
- Management of accounting interface tools
- Cash management in collaboration with the F&C manager
- Reconciliation of VAT
- Supervision of an accounting assistant
- Contribution to the improvement of accounting processes and internal control systems
- Close collaboration with technical, real estate, and investment teams
- Management of a document management system and its supplier invoice validation workflow
- Participation in development and improvement projects for accounting management tools
- Advanced professional training (Federal Diploma of Specialist in Finance and Accounting, Bachelor in Economics, University of Applied Sciences) or equivalent accounting qualification
- At least 5 years of expertise in accounting, including proven experience in a responsible role
- Confirmed accounting experience preferably in occupational pension accounting
- Proactive, autonomous person with a strong team spirit
- Strong interest in social insurance, finance, and real estate
- Excellent command of French, with good knowledge of German, or vice versa
- Ability to co-develop and manage accounting and financial activities in close collaboration with the Finance & Controlling Manager
- Good knowledge of Swiss accounting standards for occupational pensions (Swiss GAAP RPC 26), tax obligations, and internal control
- Mastery of regulatory compliance issues and active contribution to the internal control system
- Rigor ensuring reliability, accuracy, and consistency of accounting and financial data
- Ability to prioritise, decide, and structure accounting activities in a demanding environment
- Analytical mindset enabling resolution of complex issues and quick understanding of existing processes
- Interest in digitalisation and automation of administrative and accounting processes
- Expertise in using accounting tools and common office applications, especially Excel (Expert)
