About the job
Directly attached to the head librarian, the person in this position contributes to the smooth running of the Troinex municipal library. They participate in welcoming the public, managing the collections, promoting public reading, as well as the cultural and educational activities of the library.
They also ensure, under the coordination of the head librarian, the reception of school classes and participate in developing links between the library, children, teaching staff and families.

Specific conditions of employment :
- Diploma in documentary information (Bachelor HES, CFC AID or equivalent qualification)
- Proven professional experience in a library, ideally municipal and/or school;
- Excellent general literary culture and strong interest in children’s and adult literature;
- Excellent command of the French language, both spoken and written;
- Proficiency in common IT and office tools as well as library management software and digital communication tools;
- Developed sense of welcome, public service and cultural mediation, with real ease with varied audiences, especially children;
- Ability to propose and lead activities around books and reading;
- Ease in welcoming and managing groups, especially classes and groups of children;
- Autonomy, organisational skills, creativity, initiative and ability to work in a team.
Tasks:
- Welcome, inform and advise users and carry out routine activities such as lending, returns, reservations and registrations;
- Participate in the smooth running of the library and assist the head librarian in their activities;
- Contribute to the management and enhancement of collections: acquisitions, cataloguing, equipment, classification, new arrivals and thematic selections;
- Welcome and lead class visits, in collaboration with the school and teachers, and propose activities adapted to different ages;
- Participate in cultural mediation and develop activities around books and reading for children, families and adults;
- Collaborate in organising exhibitions, meetings and events, notably within the framework of municipal events;
- Contribute to making the library a welcoming, lively and accessible place for all audiences.
